Roper Rhodes Event Thermostatic Shower Valve

Roper Rhodes Event Mixer Shower

The Roper Rhodes Event thermostatic shower valve has to be the best value shower valve around at present it is a recessed shower valve that is dual control, so it has a separate flow and temperature control.

It has been made to compliment Roper Rhodes current range but would also sit very neatly next to lots of other brands of single lever bathroom taps and showers.

It has a diverter that can operate two separate items from the one valve, for example you could use it to control a fixed shower head and a shower handset on a riser rail (shower kit), all this and it come with a 10 year guarantee.

It is currently on offer at Tapstore.com for just £107.00 you can find out more by clicking here.

Roper Rhodes Factor Showers

Roper Rhodes Factor shower valves

Roper Rhodes Factor Showers

Roper Rhodes have added the Factor range of showers to their portfolio again a square design as seems to be with most of the newest arrivals, neat and tidy is what comes to mind when describing the Factor range.

Roper Rhodes Factor shower valves are all thermostatic with choices of either a surface bar valves or recessed concealed valve. with the Factor bar shower valve you have a choice of either top or bottom outlet shower valves the top outlet being used with a rigid riser where you could use a diverter if required, and the bottom outlet is used for a shower hose connecting to a shower kit of some sort.

The Factor concealed shower valves are a choice of either a straight single outlet shower valve with the Factor dual control inline valve which you can use with either a fixed shower head or a riser rail kit, or you could use the Factor triple valve which is in fact a two outlet shower valve that can be used to run a variety of devices.

All in all a very cheap range of  showers for your money, the best prices are to be found by clicking here.

HIB Acoustia Bathroom Mirror Clock and Radio

Bathroom clock mirror and radio

Hib Acoustia Mirror Clock and Radio

Radio Star Acoustia by HIB is a bathroom mirror which has a clock and a radio with LED back lights. Is it a gimmick “no way” explained my wife then I thought how many times she shouts “whats the time” from the bathroom as she squeezes every last second out of her relaxing bath away from the kids.

I like the landscape design and the neat bevelled edges to the mirror, the LED lights are good but you would need background lighting as well, and being LED they do not need any maintenance, the clock well its a standard 24 hr clock with a sleep timer and a alarm.

Remote control

Hib Acoustia Remote Control

With the built in radio which is FM and stereo speakers with auto tune and a 10 station preset memory, but the bit that is essential is the remote control (see right) which I can see my wife relaxing in the bath tuning in and not shouting at me as a bonus.

The width of the mirror is 800mm with a height 600mm.

You can buy the Radio Star Acoustia mirror clock radio for £293.00 by clicking here.

Roper Rhodes Hydra Bathroom Taps

Hydra Bathroom Taps

Roper Rhodes Hydra bathroom taps are a brand new edition to their collections, it is simply a really well priced designer range of taps and mixers.

What I like apart from the price is the design, its wide waterfall styled spout and handle that follows perfectly, it has a squared body and all the great function of all the other Roper Rhodes ranges like a built in temperature and  flow limiter that can be adjusted to suit the installation.

Hydra is not a huge range but covers the minimum requirement, in the collection is the Hydra mini mono basin mixer and the Hydra basin mixer in the picture to the right, the Hydra bath filler and the Hydra bath shower mixer which comes complete with a contemporary square shower handset and hose.

Cheap bathroom taps by price but not by design…

Square Bathroom Taps

Square bathroom taps

Square Bathroom Taps

Looking around at new ranges of square bathroom taps and I came across the Navona collection which is a brand new range which I had not noticed before, it has a lever that is flush to the top of the handle which is a slightly unusual approach but very neat in design, although this is a small range it has every thing that is required for a bathroom, in the collection is either a pair of basin taps or a  mono block basin mixer, there is a bidet mixer and for the bath the choice of a separate pair of bath taps a bath filler or a bath shower mixer.

In the picture to the left is the mono bloc basin mixer and a bath filler, to know the quality of the product the handles have to be smooth in operation which is generally a good test of the quality brassware and these are certainly up the the standard I would expect.

Value for money is where this range really stands out the basin taps come in at just £55.00 with the basin mixer just £63.00 even the bath shower mixer is well priced at £156.00 which makes this range my choice for quality at a price, if you would like to view the whole range on offer then just click here.

Low Pressure Bathroom Taps

Roper Rhodes Bathroom Taps

Storm Bathroom Taps

I always get asked “why my new bathroom taps or mixers do not work as well as my old taps” well this is because in the UK there are very few true taps manufacturers most are simply importers and the products available on the market are not manufactured specifically for the low pressure market. So if you have a conventional water system with a cold water storage tank and a hot water cylinder in your airing cupboard then you will need to be careful with your product selection.

I like the way that tapstore.com explain about the high versus low pressure on their information pages which you can view here and the low pressure bathroom tap pages where they point out ranges with explanations that will work on a gravity fed water system.

There are products that will work on low pressure well but always double check the products specified minimum specified pressure rating.

The function of bathroom taps and mixers is so important if you make the wrong decision by the time you use your lovely new bathroom it could be too late the last thing you want is to wait 20 minutes to fill up a bath and by the time you get in it its cold, so take time and care in making the right choice.
