Crosswater Central – Bathroom Taps

Crosswater’s Central Bathroom taps have now been launched and they do not disappoint with the ultra flat handle and mimicking spout they are designed to be pleasing to the eye, the range is small with basin options being a monobloc basin mixer and a two hole wall mounted basin set, for the bath you have standard bath filler and a two hole bath filler with a water fall type spout, a bath shower mixer and a rather unusual water fall spout control handle and pull out shower handset version.

For the shower you have my favorite part to the range which is a rather sleek slimline Central thermostatic shower valve which is as a standard dual control, same but with an additional diverter, a three handled 3 way valve and a three handled 2 way valve in either portrait or landscape versions.

Crosswater Click – bathroom taps

Click is one of Crosswaters new ranges of bathroom taps which was launched at KBB Birmingham this March, at present it is available as a monobloc basin mixer, bath shower mixer and a bath filler only but I am sure if it proves to be a success the range will be extended further into shower valves and other taps and mixers.

I really like the shape of the spout and the flat handles giving a neat easy to grip handle.

All the items are designed to work well on a low pressure system needing only 0.2bar to operate and will work well with all high pressure systems as well.

The basin mixer tap comes with out a pop up waste so you will need to add a clicker waste or free flow waste to complete the look.

The Click basin mixer is RRP £199.00, The Bath shower mixer is RRP £419.00 and the Bath filler is £359.00.

Bristan Chill Bathroom Taps

Bristan’s chill bathroom taps and showers are one of the best ranges they produce with the full individual flair in the Danish design, The flatness of the spouts within the range are inspiring, on the handle is a engineered square grip which doubles its function as a flow control.  Chill basin mixer tap is sure to excite you into creating a truly contemporary bathroom.

It is not a huge range but it will satisfy most bathing and showering requirements the first and most sold item within the range is the monobloc basin mixer as pictured on the right it is available with or without a pop up waste and also in a taller version without a pop up waste, there is a two hole basin mixer option as well with a neat square escution plate for mounting both the spout and the control valve, you can also use a version with a rectangular base plate to join the spout and the control valve together.

For the bath there is a standard bath shower mixer and five different ways to fill the bath, you can use a simple wall mounted control and spout two versions of a deck mounted bath filler both designed to match the basin mixers. or you could use either the shower valve with built in diverter and a bath filler over flow or the three way shower valve with a stop cock and diverter so you can add a pull out hose for rinsing out the bath or just washing your hair.

There are four opinions for the shower, the first option pictured to the left is a thermostatic shower valve that can be mounted either on the surface or recessed into the wall, it comes complete with a riser rail kit and a really neat stylish single function shower handset.

In the recessed only options which are also thermostatic you have the choice of a dual function with a flow control and a temperature control handle ideal for either a shower kit or a fixed position shower head, then there is a shower valve with diverter so two items can be controlled and my favorite the three way valve (pictured right) which is the same as the diverter option with the added bonus of a stop cock on/off control fitted below the thermostat that can be used simultaneously with either of the top outlets or individually on its own.

Crosswater Status Bathroom Taps

Crosswater have launched Status Bathroom Taps an unusual slant with this range it has some harsh angles with some subtle curves in between built and designed with a very well engineered feel as with all Crosswater’s products offering a certain quality and durability.

The choices with in the Status Range stating with the Status Monobloc basin mixer that comes with no pop-up waste so be sure to select a click clack waste as an addition, also you have a mini basin mixer for the cloakroom or smaller basins, there is a tall monobloc basin mixer for freestanding bowls or for a three hole basin you have the 3 hole basin set with a very imposing spout, just to finish off the basin mixer range there is a wall mounted 2 hole basin mixer (as shown below) which is my personal favorite.

To allow for baths you have a choice of a bath shower mixer or bath filler with a 3 hole bath filler or a 5 hole bath shower mixer set, they have a set of deck mounted side bodies which you can match up with the Status bath spout for separate parts.

For showering the range is quite limited there is just a manual shower valve or manual shower valve with diverter available which tend to be used more as bath fillersnow a days the diverter model could also be used to fill up a bath and also divert to a shower handset.

Crosswater Stream Bathroom Taps – A Luxury Waterfall

Crosswater have long since put the wow factor in the brass ware market being one of the leaders when it comes to design, well the Stream bathroom taps are no exception to the rule, I think they are a love them or hate them range, I was not sure at first but when you feel the quality in the flesh I feel most unsure people will be convinced.

The range for basins consists of the Stream monobloc basin mixer, a mini basin mixer, a tall basin mixer, a two hole wall mounted basin mixer where the control handle sits above the spout on a rectangular backplate.

For the bath you have a 3 hole bath filler, a 5 hole bath set or you could use a set of hot and cold deck mounted panel valves and the separate bath spout, you also have the option of using a manual shower valve or a manual shower valve with diverter which could be used with a bath filler overflow and shower handset.

For showering there are choices of a Crosswater Stream thermostatic shower valves for a shower head or riser rail and handset or you have the same thermostatic shower valve with a built-in diverter which can operate two separate items independently, a portrait and landscape shower valves with two stop cocks for operating two items simultaneously, and finally within the showering range will be a 3 way thermostatic shower valve again both portrait and landscape orientation.

The Voyager Bathroom Taps from Crosswater are neat and concise it has georgous curves and an smooth operating lever control that mimics the curves of the body of the mixers, in the range their is the monobloc basin mixer that comes without a pop up waste also available in a tall monobloc basin mixer, a monobloc bidet mixer tap, a bath filler and a bath shower mixer, they also have in the range a wall mounted 2 hole basin set or you could use the separate spout and manual mixer valve which could also be used for a manual shower, and for a bath filling and or shower option use the manual shower valve with built in diverter.

Bath Filler Over Flow – Options

The concept of a bath filler over flow is simple, using a control valve to turn on and off the water flow and mix the temperature which will then send a premixed flow of water into the overflow spout and therefore fill up the bath via either a pop up or click clack waste mechanism.

You will hear these described as many differing terms like Exa fill, Extra fill, overflow bath filler, there are two types click clack or clicker where the plug section is pushed once to close the plug and pushed again to open the plug, these tend to project into the bath less but are less reliable or Pop up Bath filler overflow where the plug is operated via a turning knob for opening and closing the waste plug.

The best value for money one I have seen on the market is Tapstore’s own brand one which is manufactured from chrome on brass and comes with a ten year guarantee for £72.00, they also have a click clack version for £72.00 the version that Bathstore sell is just crosswaters one re branded for them as Extra Fill that one is the XT bath filler pop up waste and the Exafill is a Hansgrohe version.

Bristan Arc – Bathroom Taps

If you want to be different then this is the product for you, These Arc bathroom taps from Bristan are available in chrome only and include a playful spout design throughout offering an interesting contrast to their tubular main bodies. The ceramic disc valves with joystick action allows for easy operation and durability.

The Arc from Bristan is a fairly limited range with only this monobloc basin mixer and a bath shower mixer or a thermostatic bath shower mixer available in the range.
