The Roper Rhodes Event thermostatic shower valve has to be the best value shower valve around at present it is a recessed shower valve that is dual control, so it has a separate flow and temperature control.

SL3 Thermostatic Showers

April showers are here so, where are the best bargains. Well I have some cheap thermostatic shower valves that won’t hurt your pocket. The first one,  pictured on the right is the SL3 recessed thermostatic shower valve, it comes with a solid brass chrome plated back-plate and solid handles. Everything feels great about this valve no plastic parts at all and all for just £153.00. There are two other recessed valves in this range – a two outlet valve with diverter which looks the same as this one on the on the right and a three outlet shower valve – this one has three handles, the top handle will control two of the outlets and the bottom handle will control the third outlet, the middle handle is your thermostat and controls the temperature. Pre-set to 38 degrees this can be calibrated to higher or lower temperature if you wish.

Roper Rhodes Factor Showers

Roper Rhodes have added the Factor range of showers to their portfolio again a square design as seems to be with most of the newest arrivals, neat and tidy is what comes to mind when describing the Factor range.

Roper Rhodes Factor shower valves are all thermostatic with choices of either a surface bar valves or recessed concealed valve. with the Factor bar shower valve you have a choice of either top or bottom outlet shower valves the top outlet being used with a rigid riser where you could use a diverter if required,and the bottom outlet is used for a shower hose connecting to a shower kit of some sort.

The Factor concealed shower valves are a choice of either a straight single outlet shower valve with the Factor dual control inline valve which you can use with either a fixed shower head or a riser rail kit, or you could use the Factor triple valve which is in fact a two outlet shower valve that can be used to run a variety of devices.

The designs available in the Helix bathroom taps range are as follows, for choices of Basin mixers you have the monobloc basin mixer with small spout (pictured right), a three hole wall mounted basin mixer, a three hole deck mounted basin mixer.

For the Hudson Reed Tec showers there are just as many options with a massive 7 thermostatic shower valves to choose from starting with the Tec Pura thermostatic shower valve a neat rectangular back plate for shower head or handset and hose, you could also choose the same Tec Pura shower valve with diverter, or if you want to operate two items at the same time then use the Tec Pura triple shower valve with diverter this shower valve the middle handle controls your temperature and the top and bottom handles control water flow. The choices with in the Status Range stating with the Status Monobloc basin mixer that comes with no pop-up waste so be sure to select a click clack waste as an addition, also you have a mini basin mixer for the cloakroom or smaller basins, there is a tall monobloc basin mixer for freestanding bowls or for a three hole basin you have the 3 hole basin set with a very imposing spout, just to finish off the basin mixer range there is a wall mounted 2 hole basin mixer (as shown below) which is my personal favorite.

To allow for baths you have a choice of a bath shower mixer or bath filler with a 3 hole bath filler or a 5 hole bath shower mixer set, they have a set of deck mounted side bodies which you can match up with the Status bath spout for separate parts.

For showering the range is quite limited there is just a manual shower valve or manual shower valve with diverter available which tend to be used more as bath fillersnow a days the diverter model could also be used to fill up a bath and also divert to a shower handset.

It is a minimal design with a delicate single lever operation and slight round body making it fit easily with most modern bathroom designs.

The Sonique Monobloc Basin Mixer with pop up waste (Pictured left) is retail priced at only £76.00 which is a snip and is accompanied in the range with a two handled basin mixer with pop up waste, separate hot and cold pairs of basin and bath pillar taps, for the bath is a bath filler and a bath shower mixer. Just to complete the range they have also launched the Sonique mini thermostatic shower valve that can be either surface mounted or recessed into the wall, it comes complete with a wall outlet elbow, shower hose and adjustable riser rail priced at only £205.00 retail price.

The Crosswater Totti thermostatic shower valve (left) is a nice example of a crosshead shower valve with a ten year guarantee and will function well right down to 0.2bar pressure. available from tapstore for £252.00.

I also like there Bristan Artisan shower at only £99.00 it is a bargain it comes with a 5 year guarantee and is thermostatic as well the handles and front plate are not as good a quality as with the crosswater valve but for less than half the price who would worry.
